Chrysanthemums... Whose word is that?
Why cannot you be plum, or apple, rose, poppy?

Chrysanthemum... The poet weeps in dread,
His tongue a-twisted, mind not coping...

No matter, though. You are a welcome guest,

Great balls of gold amid the squelching mud!

To bloom in winter is the plum's great quest,
The elixir of love brews in the rose's bud.

- To bloom in purity of snow, however,
Is not a virtue; nor flummoxing the sober;

But blooming all alone and challenging the weather
And shining in the dullness of October.

Her Excuse For Loving, in Reply to Ben Jonson

I see your hundred of grey hairs
Speaking of seven and forty years;
I love you every inch of soul -
You only say that I'm too foul.
Of course - why would a Poet care
Of her twice younger him in year?
He knows the mysteries of space
And lives a life of cosmic grace...
I'm no poet; yet my heart
Is an artist of its art;
Try I might, I can't embrace
Nor your figure nor your phase;
I but follow you with ardour -
Like or not, I love you harder
Every day and every line
Till the world for love may die.

Coming To See Your Girlfriend

Her gentle curves

Her eyes as blue as yours

And just as icy

Her

Enormous body

Those horses in her hair

 White horses in the darkness

The way she flows

Oh yes she's hard to miss

Who set the meeting – you, or me, or her -

I never knew. I held your crystal key -

As if that could impress her...

But then she saw my boyfriend's tartan stride

And smiled.

The Northern eyes locked on,

And off they were,

Off in the ceilidh whirl

That made far galaxies submit and shudder -

No matter.

 *

This whisp'ring sky

Those horses

        that never knew a thunder

 Baikal

Do I wake here

           do i dream

  *

The bitter wind of warm

        Acceptance

Or maybe this is thyme

Yes, only thyme

                     if only

 *

The skies are full of ire

The airy lava

Love her fearsome hug

Nice sunset

       'ice des-ire

 *

The echoes never leave

I'll never leave your side

I lie

  *

Invites me to invade

  she does

Oh how I miss her isles

    miss isles i

                          miss

*

I'm getting soggy in her peaceful fog

I'm growing soggier

There's no reverse

        is there

 *

The field is calling me

The Field

The field

The Field

Oh fie

 *

I'm fired, I am gone

I'm triggered

Weep on you weary wind

           and dodge the billows

 *

Alone beneath the sky

Each star is like a wound

 Now filled with light

                      And distance

Now what

 *

Oh can this blood in veins

Be running water

Oh can you take all that

                  running in vain

And turn the tide

 *

What do you say

What do you sigh

From shore to shore

Shamelessly shy

I'm long enough to follow

                I             long enough

 *

A pebble in your eye

What do you care

A tea-leaf in the wind

    Baikal

you let me come

  Now do i wake here

                      do i dream

The Cuckoo La La Buccaneer

(after “The Gallifreyan Buccaneer”)

Oh no! You ARE going to sing!

Well yes! I AM! I -

-i-iiiiiiii am the very model of a Cuckoo la la  Buccaneer,

I muddle every matter you naïvely believed was clear,

I put my finger into every pie I come to come across,

I have to have a word on every secret of the Universe.

*

My non-sense flows in rhyme and prose, and then of course it's also cute

To drum it out, to feel the beat – or else to execute the flute;

I cannot be made linear in any sense or faculty

(Faculty? Taculty? Maculty? Ah ha!)

And when I'm done with dancing I can sit and sip my fairy tea!

(And when he's done with dancing he will sit and sip his fairy tea!
And when he's done with dancing he will sit and sip his fairy tea!
And when he's done with dancing he will sit and sip his very airy-fairy tea!)

I've decapitalized this Hydra of 3D reality,

I've nullified the bifurcated flow of one duality,

Each day I keep revisiting what you naïvely thought was clear,
For I'm the very model of a Cuckoo la la  Buccaneer!

(Each day he keeps revisiting what you naïvely thought was clear,
For he's the very model of a Cuckoo la la  Buccaneer!)

~

I've been fishy, beetly, froggy and I've been an AI too,

I've killed my friend in many ways just so to help him transit through,

I know what it is like to be an elf, a stone, a human bean,

Some say I am a drama queen but I just like to make a scene.

*

Say I'm insane and that's a shame to never have a fixed frame

But try to play my giddy game, the world will never be the same

A Space Song

Across the sea of space,

    and sea of time,

How far a song can fly,

     how long?

To reach the star

     that shoots away, away

What hope can be, and stay,

                         what will?

The dark and lifeless space,

     cold sucking at the soul,

How can a song survive,

       how can it thrive?

The song will sing forever

      Timelessly

There's never real space

      'Tween you and me.

UHTĊEARE

She sits and spins                 a web of words

Sighing or singing                  as her breath becomes branches

Of what  might  be                   true or not

Where is he she                              is pondering

As the light in the foliage                        goes from golden

To copper to silver                   to none

He                  in whose beautiful eyes she would gaze

What lands is he seeing              what foes what friends

As she bears abandoned                    in that bifurcation

Burning buried bored bothered           not

Waiting and wondering         why not

Light in the foliage          turns golden again

Listens for a                  light intrusion

Longing to look hoping to hold           the web

Where is her brother          her runaway heart

Sleepless before the dawn            she is

Resting never              feeling

Every inch every thought        in between

Sleeplessly spinning        for him all for him

The ocean may shallow before          he shall come

Stars may cease to      no matter

Filament firmaments dilapidate     dawn may drop

Like a lonely tear                    tearing the face

With joy or with sorrow          She spins and she hums

Dreamy eyes dreamy hands         nimble fingers.

Why are you late my only                  what holds you back

It's dark and darker yet                  love be not     lost

Come back come back       none shall be said above.

Shallow all shallow.        Yet she waits to see.

Excruciating experience extremely        cogent

Her shielded web           is ready to uncoil

Heart in the shadows         is aching  dead   dying

The web is there to wed          as gentle as a petal

Of peace                                   as strong as

Gold                                   rushing through the leaves

Again                                   if that is true again

There's no one else           more dearer to hold

There's no one                           else.

She sits and spins                 all ready to embrace

::: INTERMISSION :: MERRY AND DOTTY :: AND THIRDLY :: IN 101010 PARTS :::

1

Banished from society

I find pleasure

in the mustardseed garden.

10

Was there a garden without a gardener?

Shadowy leaves.

11

Little bird, you are hiding -

Yet your song does disclose you.

Let my spade have a rest as I listen.

100

A worm breathes out, relieved.

Dangerous is the day!

101

Will my shelter endure?

By and by comes the mistress.

The day is short and the work is plenty!

110

The fish are laughing,

chasing the ripples.

111

Your smile – or was it

the blinding reflection

on dancing waters?

1000

Not two teeth alike.

What a beauty!

1001

In dismay I'm dismissing my painting.

Language, die!

How to sing the unsingable?

1010

The flower did nothing but flower

but the bee went mad.

1011

Opening wide all my windows.

A windowsill violet is all I have -

let me share my treasure with all who flies in!

1100

So eager to travel - this meadow

is my ocean, my cities and continents.

1101

Trying to find

the name of the herb in the book.

A thousand more stays unnamed.

1110

How high flies the dandelion fluff!

“What is its Latin name?”.

1111

No, I shall not

answer you question!

Yet my silence betrays me...

10000

A pause is a bridge

wide enough for three.

10001

You and me and an echo

between us...

What a company to behold!

10010

A hot discussion of life and death

the mountains hardly notice.

10011

Who are those travellers,

so noisy among the rocks?

I wait in the peaceful shade, never seen.

10100

Tread carefully, stranger;

There are snakes in the mountains.

10101

So sad is a lifeless landscape!

A quick movement in the rocks

I stop and rejoice
